40 POINTS FOR A TIME-CONSUMING MATH ASSIGNMENT

It's a stretch to be asking for so much assistance but why not right. I've attached the assignment which is related to transformations in geometry. It's a project that requires using real world objects and also creating a model, whether it's arts and crafty or digital. I doubt anyone will help with this but if you willingly decide you're interested in this assignment and would like to do it, feel free, I would greatly appreciate it :).

A rental car company claims the mean time to rent a car on their website is 60 seconds with a standard deviation of 22 seconds. A random sample 36 customers attempted to rent a car on the website. The mean time to rent was 55 seconds. Is this enough evidence to say that the mean time is less than the company's claim? Consider α=0.05.

Answers

Answer:

Since the calculated value of Z does not fall in the critical region we accept our null hypothesis that mean = 60 seconds

Step-by-step explanation:

State the null hypothesis

H0: u = 60against the claim

Ha u≠   60   (this is a two tailed test)

Sample size n= 36

Sample mean=X`= 55

Population mean = u= 60

The significance level α = 0.05

Standard deviation= Sd = 22 seconds

Z= X`- u / Sd /√n

Z= 55- 60 / 22/√6

z= - 5/22/6

Z= -1.3635

The value of z from the table is Z∝/2= ±1.96

The critical region is less than - 1.96 and greater than 1.96.

Since the calculated value of Z does not fall in the critical region we accept our null hypothesis that mean = 60 seconds

find the equation of a line parallel to y = 3x - 6, passing through the point (-6, -7).

y = 3x + 11

y = 3x - 11

y = 3x - 7

y = -1/3x - 9

Answers

Parallel lines have the same a slope. Therefore if

k: y = 3x - 6 → slope = 3

and l: y = mx + b

l || k ⇔ m = 3

l: y = 3x + b

We have the point (-6, -7). Put the coordinates to the equation:

-7 = 3(-6) + b

-7 = -18 + b    add 18 to both sides

11 = b → b = 11

Quadrilateral ABCD is a parallelogram if both pairs of opposite sides are congruent. Show that quadrilateral ABCD is a Parallelogram by finding the lengths of the opposite side pairs

Answers

Answer:

BC is the length of ad

Step-by-step explanation:

The quadrilateral ABCD is a Parallelogram BC is 8 units in length.

What is a parallelogram?

A simple quadrilateral with two sets of parallel sides is known as a parallelogram. In a parallelogram, the opposing or facing sides are of equal length, and the opposing angles are of equal size.

The following information is missing in the question:

AB= 4x

CD= 2y

AD= y + 4

BC= 2y

Given that ABCD is a parallelogram, then the opposite sides are congruent. That means:

AB = CD -> 4x = 2y      (eq. 1)

BC = AD -> 2y = y + 4  (eq. 2)

Solving equation 2:

2y = y + 4

2y - y = 4

y = 4

Solving equation 1:

4x = 2*4

x = 8/4

x = 2

This means that:-

BC = 2 x 4 = 8 units length

CD = 2 x 4 = 8 units length

AB= 4 x 2 =  8 units length

AD= 4 + 4  = 8 units length

Hence, the quadrilateral ABCD is a Parallelogram BC is 8 units in length.

Mrs. Speas has $138 in her bank account during Week #1. At the end of each week, she deposits $55 into her bank account.

What is the first term?

What is the difference?

What is the iterative rule for the amount of money Mrs. Speas has after n weeks? (you are NOT required to simplify)

Answers

Answer:

1) The first term is $138

2) The difference is $55

3)  The iterative rule for the amount of money Mrs. Speas has after n weeks is 27.5·n² + 110.5·n

Step-by-step explanation:

The mount Mrs. Speas has in her bank account = $138

The amount of money she deposits each week = $55

The amount of money in Mrs. Speas account therefore, forms an Arithmetic Progression

1) The first term = a = The initial money Mrs. Speas has in her bank account = $138

2) The (common) difference = d =The amount she deposits at the end of each week = $55

The iterative rule for the amount of money Mrs. Speas has (in her bank account) after n weeks is given by the formula for the sum of an arthmetic progression (AP), Sₙ, as follows;

[tex]S_n = \dfrac{n}{2} \times \left [2 \times a + (n - 1)\times d \right ][/tex]

Substituting the values of a and d gives;

[tex]S_n = \dfrac{n}{2} \times \left [2 \times 138 + (n - 1)\times 55 \right ] = \dfrac{n}{2} \times \left [221 + n \times 55 \right ] = 110.5\cdot n + 27.5 \cdot n^2[/tex]

∴ 3)  The amount of money she has after n weeks = Sₙ = 27.5·n² + 110.5·n.

The daily cost of production in a factory is calculated using c(x)= 200+16x, where x is the number of complete products manufactured. Find the average rate of change between 5 and 8 conpleted products manufactured

A: -1/16

B: 3

C: 16

D: 48

Answers

Answer:

D: 48

Step-by-step explanation:

Daily cost of production; c(x) = 200 + 16x

when the number of complete products manufactured is 5, the cost is:

c(5) = 200 + 16(5)

      = 200 + 80

      = 280

c(5) = 280

When the number of complete products manufactured is 8, the cost is:

c(8) = 200 + 16(8)

      = 200 + 128

      = 128

c(8) = 328

Average rate of change = c(8) - c(5)

                                        = 328 - 280

                                        = 48

Thus, the average rate of change is 48.

What is an Equation of a line?

The equation of a line is expressed as y = mx + b where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept

And y - y₁ = m ( x - x₁ )

y = y-coordinate of second point

y₁ = y-coordinate of point one

m = slope

x = x-coordinate of second point

x₁ = x-coordinate of point one

The slope m = ( y₂ - y₁ ) / ( x₂ - x₁ )

Given data ,

Let the equation of line be represented as A

Now , the value of A is

Let the first point be P ( 2 , 4 )

Let the second point be Q ( 0 , -1 )

Now , the slope of the line is m = ( y₂ - y₁ ) / ( x₂ - x₁ )

Substituting the values in the equation , we get

Slope m = ( 4 - ( -1  ) ) / 2

m = ( 4 + 1 ) / 2

m = 5/2

Hence , the slope is m = 5/2
