B. ii. and iii. C. i. ii., and iv. D. i., il., iii., and iv. Please select the best answer from the choices provided 4 A B D

Answers

Answer 1

Answer:

Option D

Explanation:

All of the following options are in effect to ensure the government does not have too much power.

Option I:
Government officials are indeed subject to the law, they're not above it nor are they allowed to break the law without facing repercussions.

Option II:
Government officials are held accountable for their actions which is true. Government officials are at risk to be impeached, which is to be removed from their position if they break any laws.

Option III:
Limitations are placed on how long government officials can serve, which is indeed true. Government officials aren't allowed to serve for long periods of time, they're usually allowed to serve for a few years then a new government official is voted into office.

Option IV:
The government is divided into branches which is again true. This is called separations of powers which was put into place to ensure the government doesn't have all the power. So, the government was spilt into three different branches and checks and balances ensures that each branch doesn't gain more power than the other.

Which means your answer is option D "i., il., iii., and iv" or all of the above.

Hope this helps.

The heaviest fighting was yesterday, and to-day they are in full retreat, and our army entire is after them. This is the first time since the organization of the army of the Potomac that the rebels have met our men in open field, fight, and I don't believe they would this time but that (as the prisoners say) their officers told them they were to fight the militia, but they found to their cost that the old army of the Potomac was around. We must have taken about 8,000 prisoners. The loss in killed and wounded on both sides must be 25,000, and some say the rebels alone have lost that number. Gen'l Lee tried to come the flag of truce game on Gen'l Meade, but it failed to work. Gen'l Meade sent back that he would bury their dead for them.

Sorry for not Being here sooner to help! {I'm having to do an essay on 9/11 for my Global Studies class!}

On September 11, 2001 terrorists crashed two American airline airplanes into Twin Towers, killing thousands of people. It was the worst terrorist attack in American history and it showed us that we are not protected by Atlantic and Pacific. It showed us that we could be attacked by anyone, at anytime. It showed us that if we will be attacked again that we can only depend on each other and not on other nations to help us. The 9/11 changed people forever, some lost family members or friends, others lost their jobs even so called “American Dream.”

The September 11th attacks made us united as one powerful person who can stand up from the ruins of thousands pounds of metal and fight so that we won’t have to be in ruins again. In the recent videos Osama bin Laden and his colleagues are talking about the power of Islam and the attacks on Twin Towers. It seems like Osama bin Laden and other radicals are ready for “Jihad” and they are ready to win. They say that Allah is on their side and people around the world want to learn more about Islam since the September 11th attacks. A good example was John Walker, an American who was with Taliban army man when he was captured. He was studying Muslim traditions in Pakistan where he joined Taliban. This showed me that even today, after over 20 years of 9/11 happening, people still talk about the tragic event.

Of the nearly two hundred nation-states in the world today, how many existed in their current form during the nineteenth century?.

Answers

Most of the countries that exist today had long historical processes of formation of more than 300 years. However, its current composition is generally from the 20th century.

What is a country?

A country is a term to refer to a territory with its own geographical and cultural characteristics, which may or may not constitute a sovereign State or a political entity within a State. Generally, this term is used as a State, composed of a set of political institutions endowed with territory, population and sovereignty.

According to the above, it can be inferred that very few of the current countries were established in the 19th century, this is due to the fact that in Europe the processes of formation of the countries come from the Kingdoms of the Middle Ages and their modifications during the abolition of monarchy and establishment of empires.

Later, during the beginning of the 20th century, countries as we know them today were formed, but these had territorial and political modifications due to world wars and the disintegration of the Soviet Union.

In America, Oceania, part of Asia and Africa, the countries were colonies and later became independent. However, they have also had several political and territorial changes due to the internal dynamics of each of them that have led them to restructure their constitutions.

In general, very few countries that were founded during the 19th century maintain their political, territorial, cultural and social structure to the present day.

Why did Germany want the Rhineland?
Why did Japan want Manchuria?
How are they similar?

Answers

Answer:

So one of the terms of the Treaty of Versailles was that the Germans would not be able to keep military forces in a 50 km stretch of the Rhineland. Hitler resented this term as it made Germany vulnerable to invasion. He was determined to enlarge his military capability and strengthen his borders. Which is why they wanted Rhineland. And Japan wanted Manchuria because during 1931 Japan had invaded Manchuria without declarations of war, breaching the rules of the League of Nations. Japan had a highly developed industry, but the land was scarce of natural resources. Japan turned to Manchuria for oil, rubber, and lumber to make up for the lack of resources in Japan. In which both Japan and Germany are quite similar due to the fact that, Japan and Germany are both parliamentary democracies and free market economies that believe in multilateralism and global trade. The political systems in Japan and Germany are roughly the same age, the post-war constitution came into force in Japan on 3 May 1947.

Philip finds this information while doing research about margarine, which is a synthetic food product. Hydrogenation is a process through which vegetable oil is changed from a liquid into a solid. During hydrogenation, a chemical reaction occurs. Hydrogen is added under pressure to the vegetable oil, resulting in a synthetic form of fat called trans fat. Trans fats typically taste better and can be stored longer than natural vegetable oils. A food product that results from hydrogenation is margarine. The Mayo Clinic website explains that margarines that contain trans fats increase the risk of heart disease and increased levels of cholesterol in the blood. Trans fats also reduce the amount of good cholesterol in the blood. Trans fats occur naturally in meat and dairy products.
