What were a couple reasons the Articles of Confederation were not working for the USA?

Answers

Answer:

The Articles of Confederation were not working largely because they did not grant enough power to the federal government. First of all, they were too weak to enforce laws, regulate trade routes, and especially levy taxes, which was very important coming out of the Revolutionary War with so much debt. All 13 states voted to redraft and edit the Articles, but instead of changing it, they started over with the Constitution.

"Father of the Federalist Papers" for ratification of the U.S. Constitution
After the Constitutional Convention, there were numerous groups that were determined
that the proposed new constitution should not be successfully ratified by the states. Since the
proceedings were in secret, some in opposition felt free to create a misrepresentation of what
actually occurred. They were quite successful in turning large numbers of people against the
proposed constitution. Alexander Hamilton decided to produce a number of printed essays
that would explain the need for such a new constitution.
These essays are now referred to as the "Federalist Papers". The actual title was "The
Federalist: A Collection of Essays Written in Favor of the New Constitution". He obtained two
other authors (James Madison & John Jay) to assist in writing sections of the outline. Almost
every week a new essay would be published. These essays were invaluable in educating the
public of the true purpose and value of the new constitution.
They also helped facilitate discussion during the state ratification conventions. Virginia
went in to their state convention with delegates tied at 84-84. The end result of the convention
was Virginia's ratification - the final vote was 89 for and 79 against. Delegates in New York,
where Hamilton led in support of the constitution, came into the state ratification convention
with 46 against ratification and only 19 for ratification. After six weeks, and against all odds,
New York ratified the U.S. Constitution on July 26, 1788 with a vote of 30 for ratification and 27

What were Mason’s concerns about the U.S. Constitution?

Answers

Answer:

As a delegate to the Constitutional Convention, Mason refused to sign the Constitution and lobbied against its ratification in his home state, believing the document as drafted gave too much power to a central government and was incomplete absent a bill of rights to guarantee individual liberty.

Many were not pleased with the document that was drafted. One of George Mason's objections was that he thought the Constitution did not adequately protect U.S. citizens without a Bill of Rights. Since no Bill of Rights was intended to be added before the document was ratified, he chose not to sign the Constitution.

Answers

Answer:

C

Explanation:

Why was the Ordinance of Nullification passed in 1832?

The national government passed it to prevent problems between the states.

The state of Virginia passed it in opposition of the Alien and Sedition Acts.

✔  The state of South Carolina passed it in opposition to the Tariff of 1828.

The state of Kentucky passed it to support of the Missouri Compromise.

The Ordinance of Nullification was passed in 1832 because the state of South Carolina passed it in opposition to the Tariff of 1828. The correct option is C.

What was the result of the South Carolina Ordinance of Nullification?

South Carolina's Ordinance of Nullification declared the Tariffs of 1829 and 1832 unconstitutional and thus null and void. It was founded on Vice President John C. Calhoun's doctrine of nullification. This doctrine served as the foundation for Confederate political ideology.

South Carolina passed the Ordinance of Nullification in November 1832, declaring the tariffs null, void, and nonbinding in the state. In December, President Andrew Jackson issued a proclamation asserting the federal government's supremacy.

Thus, the ideal selection is option C.

Which of these is not something soldiers were expected to do when they were not fighting or migrating to another location?
A. improving Roman infrastructures
B. recruit more soldiers
C. manning camp hospitals
D. making food for fellow soldiers

Answers

A.) Improving Roman infrastructures.

When they were moving to another location Roman soldiers did not have to improve on other Roman infrastructures they came upon along the way, because the building of the infrastructures was not organized by the Roman troops, more so they were organized by an architect and the architect's workers.

The reason I also chose A was because the Roman troops traveled in their groups and whenever they were injured it was up to them to man the camp hospitals to heal the wounded. Also recruiting more soldiers along the way was also very helpful to the Roman legion and allowed a much broader amount of soldiers that could be used for taking over land. Not to mention that soldiers (traveling strictly inside their troops) were responsible for feeding themselves (what I'm saying is that the troops were responsible for cooking and feeding each other I just used "themselves" as the word to describe it).

Since Roman soldiers traveled in groups they did not (I'm assuming here I don't know for sure) take women or other people along with them and they only took the amount of soldiers that were assigned by their higher ups. In other words Roman soldiers were really only expected to do as they were ordered to (in modern times any disobedience to what they were ordered to do would have resulted in them having it put on a disaplinary record, but they did not do that sort of thing during Roman times meaning that they punished the soldiers in ways that I don't factually now about). Basically the key importance in the Roman soldier was to carry out the order he received and complete the order quickly and efficiently. However, they did recruit soldiers along the way as they were instructed and that was to help them benefit for taking over land. The commanding officer was the one who told the Roman soldiers what to do when they were traveling (simple tasks, not the task assigned by the current ruler) and the soldiers were expected to complete it. A few of the tasks assigned by the commanding officer could have been to cook, preform healing measures, and recruit more soldiers.
