When it is damp outside, older folks often feel __________________________-.

Answers

Answer: Cold

Explanation:

Older folks are more prone to feeling cold than younger ones so a change in temperature outside such as it becoming damp, will lead to them feeling cold.

Older folks are this way due to the fact that humans experience lower metabolism as they grow older as well as skin thinning. Lower metabolism means that they will be producing a relatively lower amount of heat as a by-product of aerobic respiration in order to maintain their internal temperature.

Skin thinning will also reduce the layer of skin available to insulate the skin from outside temperatures.

Which statement tells a theme of
"Amigo Brothers"?
Friendship is more important than winning.
O Competition destroys good friendships.
True friends do not compete with one another.
Strong friendships cannot last forever.

Answers

Answer:

Friendship is more important than winning.

Explanation:

The short story "Amigo Brothers" by Piri Thomas revolves around the story of two best friends who had to face each other in a boxing elimination match. The story delves into the theme of loyalty and friendship, even at times of competition and self-glory.

Felix Vargas and Antonio Cruz were best friends since childhood and did everything together. Now, with the boxing elimination rounds pitting them against each other, they had no choice but to fight for their own victory. Promising to come back together after the fight no matter the outcome, the two boys fought as hard as they can. But before the declaration of the winner, both boxers had left the ring, arm in arm, leaving the announcer alone in the ring.

This story tells the theme of friendship more important than winning a boxing match.

shoose one of the prompts listed below. write a five sentence paragraph using chronological order and including a topic sentence to explain the step that you would take to complete on of the following tasks.
a. preparing for a test
b. preparing to host a party or an event
c. cleaning your room or your home

Answers

I chose A and B,  the steps are below.

If I were preparing for a test then I would first start off by getting a pen and pencil, or some other way I could write my information down. Next, I would begin researching the subject that the test is based on and find the most important parts about it so I could be sure that I knew how the test would go. Then, once all my research was completed I would put the information in an order that would make sense to me and make it easier for me to understand.

If I were preparing to host a party or a big event, then the first thing I would do is think about just why I am showing this event. Then I would choose decorations with the colors that would seem to fit the type of event I am creating. Then, I would make invites, or flyers with dates to spread the word so more people (or just the people I invite according to whether or not I chose the invitation route) would show up. Once I did this I would set up my props or what I have to use to make my event and put them where I would feel they belong. After that I would make sure everything is set up the way I want, and then wait for people to show up and begin the event.

I offered two examples so that it would be easier to choose, depending on which one you might want to use or whichever one seems better to you.

Hope this helps.

in the poem who robbed the woods why are the trees called trusting and unsuspecting

Answers

Answer:

This poem struck a completely different cord in me than what others portrayed in their comments, and that is why I felt compelled to write this. When I think of robbing the woods I think of how many things that the woods provide that I take with me once I leave them. For instance, acorns, rocks, sticks, leaves, and all of the other little treasures that the woods leave for passer-by’s to take, act as souvenirs. Perhaps Emily Dickinson felt that the trees did not intensionally leave these trinkets for her, and so maybe occasionally she felt greedy or guilty for taking them

This question is incomplete, but I will help you understand it.

Explanation:

With the example given, we are facing a self-interested thinking.

Aristotle tells us that the good man is interested in doing good to others and the more honest he is, the more good he does; and that when it comes to a friend he can forget himself.

But since his friend is his, he also has to love himself in the same way.

Egoism is a term that is used for those who only think of themselves to satisfy their worldly desires and it is with this word that the common people judge them.

In this example, we can see how Jonathan affirms that his essay is better, having a self-interested thinking without caring about the evidence that Betty exposes.

What is the future of literacy, in your opinion?

Answers

Answer:

This question requires a personal answer. I will give you one as an example, that you can use to understand it better and modify it as you wish.

Explanation:

We must first begin by defining the term literacy.

Literacy is the minimum ability to read and write a specific language, as well as a way of understanding or conceiving the use of reading and writing in daily life. It differs from simple reading and writing because it presupposes that there is a minimum understanding to use these capacities correctly in a society that is based on the graphic. Literacy, therefore, requires an active and autonomous commitment to graphics and emphasizes the role of the individual not only in the generation and reception of the message but also in the attribution of an independent interpretation to each message.

Considering all this information, my opinion is that in the future literacy will continue to be important but perhaps it will change from the way we know it today.

With the advancement of technology, it is very likely that a new form of communication will emerge and that this will be the new literacy.

Women and men now work in a greater variety of jobs than ever before: women take combat roles in the military and serve as police officers and firefighters. Men work as nurses and participate in cheerleading. More individuals are refusing the male/female binary, identifying themselves as gender-fluid or non-binary. Do you think there are still jobs or activities (for instance, sports) that are better suited to men or women? If so, what are they and why? If not, why not?

Answers

Answer:

I truly do not believe that any job and work in this world can be done by any specific gender person. In the past few years, the male and females the world has seen that males have gone for professions that were believed to be made for females and vice- versa.

Every job requires efficiency and dedication which comes from the character of any individual and not the gender he or she is born in.
