The economic system called ___ required European nations to colonize new areas to provide resources.

free enterprise
socialism
taxation
mercantilism
representation

Answers

Answer:

Mercantilism.

Explanation:

Mercantilism is an economic ideology that seeks to increase trade for the benefit of the country. It calls on the government to implement policies and regulations to the advantage of trade balance, at the expense of other countries. The primary (agricultural and mining) and secondary (manufacturing) industries are supported to maintain a self-sustaining economy and to create excess goods for export. Efforts are made not to rely on imports, other than those which cannot be found or produced domestically. In doing so, the aim is to increase the country's financial reserves and secure a strong currency.

Mercantilism peaked in Europe from the 16th to the 18th centuries, and has historically been aimed at increasing the gold and silver reserves in the treasury. As a result of Mercantilism and the need for new resources, many European nations began to establish colonies in territories such as America, Africa or Asia.

After learning about the Roman Empire, think back about what most stood out to you and why? Something they had that we don’t (here in the U.S.)? Something we have (today in the U.S.) that they didn’t?

Answers

Answer:

The thing that stood out is the ability of the Empire to incorporate so many different regions, cultures and religions into one country and to connect the whole Empire with roads and trade. On the other side something that Roman Empire had and we don't have in the United States is slavery. Slavery is prohibited in United States in the 19th Century, while in the Roman Empire existed for a long period of time. On the other side, today in the United States we have electoral system, where the mandate of President is termed, while the Roman rulers and emperors had the possibility to rule until their death.

Explanation:

Roman Empire was one of the first great empires that was ever created. It existed for almost five centuries and it spread across the whole Mediterranean and even further. It had a developed political and economical system. Still, the society was divided both on social and economical level. Additionally, it is interesting that Rome created some of the institutions that exist even today. As we have said slavery existed in Rome and there were many famous revolts, such as the one of Spartacus. Slavery also existed in United States for a long period of time, but it was abolished in 1860s.

John Dunlap, official printer to Congress, worked through the night to set the Declaration in type and print approximately 200 copies. These copies, known as the Dunlap Broadsides, were sent to various committees, assemblies, and commanders of the Continental troops. The Dunlap Broadsides weren’t signed, but John Hancock’s name appears in large type at the bottom. One copy crossed the Atlantic, reaching King George III months later. The official British response scolded the “misguided Americans” and “their extravagant and inadmissable Claim of Independency”.

WILL GIVE BRAINLY MUST EXPLAIN WHY THO

Answers

Answer:

The correct answer is D. The printing press allowed people to bypass the Catholic Church’s traditional monopoly on the production of religious texts.

Explanation:

The printing press, created by Charles Gutenberg around 1440, became a machine capable of creating literary productions in an automated way, eliminating the manual work of creating books that until then was carried out.

This task of artisan book production was carried out by Catholic monks of the Middle Ages, who, of course, only produced books that were related to their religious and political ideas. Thus, with regard to religion, the literary monopoly of the Catholic Church prevented other religions from creating their own books and, therefore, from transmitting their teachings. For this reason, the creation of the printing press, by breaking this monopoly, facilitated the transmission and expansion of new ideologies and religious beliefs, such as Protestantism.
