Answers

Answer:

Kamala Harris might have to overcome the challenges of others looking down on her because she is a woman. Others might think she doesn't know how to stand up to others and might think that she is very sensitive and doesn't know right from wrong. Harris might also be targeted from the press saying that she won't stand up for what's right and needs President Joe Biden to hold her up. Also, others might have a problem with the fact that Biden would choose Harris as VP. They also might think that a woman has no place as a high rank officer.

Read the following excerpt Patricia Hampl’s “The Need to Say it” and answer the question.

She kept her distance from the printed word of English, but she lavished attention on her lodge newspaper which came once a month, written in the quaint nineteenth-century Czech she and her generation had brought to America before the turn of the century. Like a wedding cake saved from the feast, this language, over the years, had become a fossil, still recognized but no longer something to be put in the mouth.

In the excerpt above, what does the author imply about the Grandmother?

Her Grandmother enjoyed reading current events from her native town and country.
Her Grandmother held English books far away from her face.
Her Grandmother was jealous of the her newspaper.
Her Grandmother also read her local newspaper.

Answers

Hello. You have not informed which book reviews this question is referring to. This makes it impossible for me to answer you specifically. However, I will try to help you as much as I can, giving instructions on how to answer this.

You should read both reviews and observe the position of the review author in relation to the book. It is likely that each author makes different positions on the construction of the narratives, the characters, the writing style, the events, the themes and other elements of the work. These positions can be positive, when they praise the work, or, negative, when they criticize the work. You must identify which author is being positive and which is being negative.

Read the scenario and determine which literary device is being used.
