Why might the description of Virginia written by the Virginia company be different from the accounts written by John Smith and Richard Frethorne?

Answers

Answer:

Because the company promoted a biased description of virgins by establishing only the good points about it, while Smith and Frethorne's accounts were more realistic and impartial.

Explanation:

The company promoted a description where it only addressed the qualities of Vírginia. This was done to help settlers and show the state as a wonderful and flawless earth. In fact, Vírginia had advantages, but the description of the company was completely biased and incomplete in many factors. John Smith and Richard Frethorne, on the other hand, presented more complete reports, as they were indeed familiar with the territory. They presented a more impartial report, describing the state as it really was, without alleviating possible defects.

Mrs. Geist is working with her class to find out why some people live longer than others. Which assignment would

® Mrs. Geist requiring her students to read three books on aging and health
® Mrs. Geist asking her class to research "old wives' tales" on health
Mrs. Geist telling her students to take notes on two research studies

Answers

Answer:

I believe Mrs. Geist should instruct her students to read three books on aging and health. This would allow them to get a grasp of how the science of aging and health has been progressed since the Scientific Revolution from three different perspectives. Depending on who the books are written by, I think the students could learn a lot from true testimonials or scientific studies backed by research that contain data. These books could promote an opportunity for students to grab an enormous amount of information that attempt to answer the question asked.

how did the distribution in atlantic shipping prior to and during the war 1812 significantly affect the U.S economy?

Answers

The disruption in Atlantic shipping prior to and during the War of 1812 increased the manufacturing and this was the way it affected the United States economy. Since there was problem in importing products, so to balance it, the internal production was increased and this way the economy sustained that period.

In your opinion, why had unemployment and extreme inflation, and deflation been significantly reduced by the middle of the 1920s?

Answers

During World War I, the federal government

created new agencies to manage the economy

to ensure a successful war effort. When the war

ended, the economic landscape in America changed

suddenly. Government agencies removed their

controls from the economy, and two million

soldiers returned home looking for jobs.

The economy, however, was going into

a postwar slump.

The end of wartime production and controls resulted in a sudden recession in the United

States. Both unemployment and inflation increased significantly in the years immediately

following the war. The rise in unemployment was largely a result of the end of government

orders for war materials and demobilization. Factories laid off workers and the military

discharged two million soldiers. With civilian employment down and a large population

of ex-soldiers looking for jobs, unemployment rose sharply.

Inflation resulted from the end of government controls. People raced to buy goods that had

been rationed, and with demand rising quickly, prices jumped. Businesses also moved to

raise prices that they had been forced to keep low during the war. The combination of

unemployment and inflation plunged the United States into an economic crisis and resulted

in suffering and a rise in labor disturbances.

What are some POSITIVE and NEGATIVE
aspects of the "American System"? (Capitalism,
Democracy)

Answers

One negative aspects of the American system is the way capitalism effects college. For example, if somebody goes to college to be a math teacher, they are required to take other classes that don’t benefit their career. Those classes cost thousands of dollars and even though people can go without those class’s they still have to pay large amounts of money for classes they’ll never need in life. Another negative about the American system is their government. When it comes to democrats or republicans they act like they care about so many issues but fail to fix any of the issues they claim to care so much about. I understand you can’t fix things but you can at least try to make things better. I think a good example of this would be the difference in certain schools. I’ve been to around ten schools and the one thing I can say is that all schools are not treated equally and it has everything to do with money. When it comes to schools with wealthier children the government is more willing to give them money but when it comes to children in poverty it’s like they think ‘their already poor so what’s the point of helping them.’ Although their are a lot of negative aspects it does have a couple of good one. They try to make ways for people in poverty to live better by coming up with housing programs that allow certain people to afford homes. ((I hope this helped you in some way, I’m sorry if I write to much.))
