When we compete in a healthy way, one that brings out the best in each of us and everyone else, we engage in positive competition.

Healthy competition has the ability to boost productivity at work, improve performance, and stimulate creative thinking. On the other hand, poisonous rivalry can create a hostile work environment or even divide coworkers.

In reality, research indicates that healthy competition, because of its level of social incentive, has a direct impact on performance.

Write an essay of no less than 200 words about how drugs and alcohol can affect the body and make you unable to participate in sports and fitness-related activities.

Assignment Guidelines:
Include your own ideas about how to say "no" to your peers if they offer you drugs as a means of "fitting in."

Answers

Answer:

Drugs and alcohol can effect the body in many ways. These include, the slowing of reactions, the speeding up of reactions, and all of the side effects that also come with drugs, and alchol. A common drug is caffine. When caffiene enters the digestive system it takes about 30 mintues to make it's way past it, and into the blood stream. The caffine enters cells and blocks something called adenosine. This is the molocule responsible for making us feel tired. This drug, and many other follow that path. They also tend to have the same effects, in varying amounts.

There are three typical classifications of drugs. These include Hallcinogens, Uppers, and Downers. Hallicongoens include heroine. These drugs give their users and experience that they could never have without them. As their name suggest, they hallucinate. They see images, stories, and even mental videos as if they were actually happening. Uppers exicte a person. These are the drugs that make you feel like you can do anything. They give you a false sense of energy. Downers include marjauna, and alcohol. The effect of these are a feeling of calm, and peacefulness.

With those descriptions drugs might sound enticing. However, they have many negative effects. These include heart disease, heart attacks, the progression of cancers, weight loss, weight gain, unproductivness, and uncontrollale behaivor. All of the effects that I just mentioned will keep one from being able to play sports. You can run a relay when your heart is failing because of drugs, or alcohol. An idea to keep away from drugs is to find freinds who are also drug, and alcohol free.

Pain is usually an early sign of both cervical and endometrial cancer.
True or False

Answers

Answer:

im pretty sure true

Explanation:

hope this helped!

The statement that pain is an early sign of both cervical and endometrial cancer is true.

What is cervical and endometrial cancer?

Cervical cancer screenings can detect abnormal cells, often known as "precancerous cells," that may develop into cancerous cells. These cells can then be extracted.

Cervical cancer symptoms are not always visible and may be misinterpreted as normal. As a result, even in the absence of symptoms, regular screening assures that there are no malignant or pre-cancerous cells present.

Regular checkups improve the chances of discovering cervical cancer early. The earlier the condition is detected, the better the therapy possibilities.

Cervical cancer screenings, which only check for one health concern, do not ensure a longer life.

Therefore, the statement is true.

How would social learning theorists comment upon the portrayal of smoking
in media? Explain your answer in terms of observational learning principles.
Include ONE of the following:
Modeling
Imitation
vicarious learning

Answers

Answer:

Explanation:

Addiction can be viewed as a learned behaviour because the positive reinforcement (e.g. pleasure and enjoyment) gained from a behaviour such as smoking makes it more likely that the individual will repeat the behaviour in the future. In terms of smoking, learning operates during the initiation phase (when the person first starts smoking); the maintenance phase (where they become a habitual smoker); and the relapse phase (where they try to give up, but learned associations with pleasure make it very difficult). Initiation: Social learning theory suggests that young people observe and imitate role models (parents and peers) around them who smoke and vicarious reinforcement leads them to expect positive consequences from smoking. In addition, the principles of operant conditioning suggest that any behaviours that are rewarded will increase in frequency. Addictive substances like nicotine are immediately rewarding because they activate areas of the brain that regulate feelings of pleasure, which results in quick learning. Maintenance: negative reinforcement can help explain the maintenance of an smoking in terms of withdrawal symptoms. As the effects of nicotine wears off, symptoms such as increased anxiety, irritability or low mood may be experienced. The person is then likely to smoke a cigarette to remove these symptoms (negative reinforcement) and as a result they are likely to repeat this behaviour in the future. Relapse: Cue reactivity is a learning explanation that can be used to explain relapse. This is because the person associates specific moods, situations or environmental factors (smoking-related cues) with the rewarding effects of nicotine, and these cues can trigger a relapse.
