Answer:

The word “risk” means the possibility of suffering a harmful event. Risk taking can bring either positive or negative result because anytime we take risks in life, there is a possibility of loss which can cause tension. There are a lot of people who take big risks and appear not to be affected by them. But, many of us feel very uneasy when faced with risk-taking; we may become worried about the risk. It’s the challenge itself that people learn from. There isn’t any point to making things a challenge for no good reason so it’s about taking on the right challenges and calculating risks to a point that justifies them when compared to the challenge that is faced to accomplish them. Truth be told, it was a challenged for me to take that risk and slide down the tube tunnel and I did not regret doing so because I know at that point thats what I wanted. If it hadn't been for that challenge, I wouldn't be able to see what I am capable of doing.

Taking risks is done with some purpose in mind as well. There isn’t any point in taking risks that don’t pay off. There are hundreds of things that require risks in order to make them happen. Innovation is a big one of those. Innovation is when you look for new ways of doing things, building things or perhaps new ideas. This requires breaking new ground that no one has done before and so there are always risks involved. People who are hesitant to take risks will become stagnant with no ability to innovate or change for there is no such thing as constant in this world, there are always going to be changes and new invention coming up.

Which sentences should be removed or revised to eliminate logical fallacies and improve clarity? Select three options.

sentence 2
sentence 3
sentence 4
sentence 5
sentence 6

Answers

The sentences which must be removed or revised to eliminate logical fallacies and improve clarity are sentences 4, 5, and 6.

Improving logical fallacies and clarity

A logical fallacy is a flawed way of reasoning that ends up invalidating an argument. That is what we have in sentences 4, 5, and 6, where the author of the passage makes statements for which he does not have evidence and then moves on to making more claims based on those statements.

Sentences 4, 5, and 6 also hinder clarity. The author moves from a logical argument in the previous sentences to a less logical one in 4, 5, and. So, it is unclear what he is trying to say.

With the information above in mind, we can choose sentences 4, 5, and 6 as the ones that should be removed or revised.

This is the missing passage for this question:

(1) Fights have been a part of hockey for decades, but should they continue to characterize the sport? (2) For my part, I believe that fighting should not be allowed in hockey. (3) Hockey fights lead to injuries for the players, such as pulled muscles and concussions. (4) Hockey fights are often staged to encourage people to attend the events, and then they set a poor example for fans watching, particularly children. (5) If we let children watch this kind of violence, they will think it is acceptable to act that way at school. (6) These athletes know that children look up to them, and they do not worry about the message their careless fights are teaching.
