Dear Uncle,

… We have had an awful fight here, but thank the Lord, our Army has given the Rebels an ever-lasting thrashing. The heaviest fighting was yesterday, and to-day they are in full retreat, and our army entire is after them. This is the first time since the organization of the army of the Potomac that the rebels have met our men in open field, fight, and I don't believe they would this time but that (as the prisoners say) their officers told them they were to fight the militia, but they found to their cost that the old army of the Potomac was around. We must have taken about 8,000 prisoners. The loss in killed and wounded on both sides must be 25,000, and some say the rebels alone have lost that number. Gen'l Lee tried to come the flag of truce game on Gen'l Meade, but it failed to work. Gen'l Meade sent back that he would bury their dead for them.

Sorry for not Being here sooner to help! {I'm having to do an essay on 9/11 for my Global Studies class!}

On September 11, 2001 terrorists crashed two American airline airplanes into Twin Towers, killing thousands of people. It was the worst terrorist attack in American history and it showed us that we are not protected by Atlantic and Pacific. It showed us that we could be attacked by anyone, at anytime. It showed us that if we will be attacked again that we can only depend on each other and not on other nations to help us. The 9/11 changed people forever, some lost family members or friends, others lost their jobs even so called “American Dream.”

The September 11th attacks made us united as one powerful person who can stand up from the ruins of thousands pounds of metal and fight so that we won’t have to be in ruins again. In the recent videos Osama bin Laden and his colleagues are talking about the power of Islam and the attacks on Twin Towers. It seems like Osama bin Laden and other radicals are ready for “Jihad” and they are ready to win. They say that Allah is on their side and people around the world want to learn more about Islam since the September 11th attacks. A good example was John Walker, an American who was with Taliban army man when he was captured. He was studying Muslim traditions in Pakistan where he joined Taliban. This showed me that even today, after over 20 years of 9/11 happening, people still talk about the tragic event.

Of the nearly two hundred nation-states in the world today, how many existed in their current form during the nineteenth century?.

Answers

Most of the countries that exist today had long historical processes of formation of more than 300 years. However, its current composition is generally from the 20th century.

What is a country?

A country is a term to refer to a territory with its own geographical and cultural characteristics, which may or may not constitute a sovereign State or a political entity within a State. Generally, this term is used as a State, composed of a set of political institutions endowed with territory, population and sovereignty.

According to the above, it can be inferred that very few of the current countries were established in the 19th century, this is due to the fact that in Europe the processes of formation of the countries come from the Kingdoms of the Middle Ages and their modifications during the abolition of monarchy and establishment of empires.

Later, during the beginning of the 20th century, countries as we know them today were formed, but these had territorial and political modifications due to world wars and the disintegration of the Soviet Union.

In America, Oceania, part of Asia and Africa, the countries were colonies and later became independent. However, they have also had several political and territorial changes due to the internal dynamics of each of them that have led them to restructure their constitutions.

In general, very few countries that were founded during the 19th century maintain their political, territorial, cultural and social structure to the present day.

Answer:

sort of like this

Explanation:

The fall of Constantinople is a historic event of the Ottoman conquest of Constantinople, the capital of Byzantium, which took place on Tuesday, May 29, 1453. This event meant the fall of the Byzantine Empire, although some countries (the despotate of Morea and the Trapezoid Empire) lasted for several more years. The fall of Constantinople had far-reaching consequences, as the Turks finally established themselves in the Balkans and nothing could stop them from marching on Europe, which would not end until Vienna in 1683. As a consequence of this event, Western Europe was flooded with learned people from Byzantium who brought with them knowledge from antiquity and from the East, which would later lead to the emergence of humanism and the renaissance.
